Pallet and Container Tracking
One
of the most obvious uses for RFID tags are to track pallets or containers
of goods, no matter where there are in your company. This is especially
useful in routing pallets to proper storage or shipping points,
or keeping track of receiving and shipping dates, or even the environmental
characteristics the pallet has "endured" along the way.
In shipping operations where a single container may travel great
distances, RFID data can be used to track the location as it is
offloaded and re-loaded at specific waypoints. Managers can use
data to see if a pallet or container is held up at a particular
point, or where it was last noted in transit.
